Years ago a professor asked me to step into her office...what have I done now, I thought.
She smiled, I sat down. "I want to ask you something," she said. "No perhaps it is that I want to tell you something..it has been my experience that thinking can make one feel very lonely in this world of so many who choose at various levels not to think and often resist and resent those that do...and I just wondered, watching you in class today, if you ever feel that?"
I was thinking about Descartes line and jut sort of wandered off...as to your professor, I have never been accused of thinking too deeply so I've never had one worry about my resenting those who don't think.
