We live in uncertain times. We are in a protracted war, we have a fragile economy, the nation is divided between two factions, the President is espousing ideas that divide us, and according to some the end of the world is just around the corner.
Sounds terrible, except these same statements could be applied to us in 1865, and about a dozen other years in our nation’s history. It could also be said about every nation at some time or another. The one take away for me is life is uncertain. You do the best you can with what you have, you worry about what you can fix, you strive to support those who need support and you be honest with yourself and others.

Hello John,
Historical perspective is helpful...one day at a time brings in lots of realism too being that is all any of us have.
Your last several posts make me think of the 12th chapter of the letter to the Romans....all of it...but this verse came to me first:
"In as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." Rom:12-18
Thanks Jeannette. I am glad you stop by from time to time to share your insight.
You make an important point. I try to look at it like this: my family and I have an opportunity to to live rightly, testify to the truth, and serve others. What more could we ask for?
Perhaps some chairs to go with the red table? Seriously, you're in the role that draws faith so that it may be provided to those who seek the truth and through faith uncertainty is put in its place.
