The Moment of Truth -- Today's Revolution

Every two years American's have a chance to revolt.  I think that is the up front message of the tea party this year.  Too many of us have lost sight of the fact that elections are our way of renewing or removing the existing government.  It is a peaceful form of revolt where we express our collective will.  For most we view this as a chore.  That is unfortunate and has led to the assumptions by career politicians that we are sheep to be led in whatever direction benefits them.

When a significant percentage of the population wakes up to this ruse, the people threatened most are those with the most to lose.  We have seen them use every medium available to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the opposition, going so far as to say we are "scared" and "misguided."

For a president who promised open government and clear choices we have seen very little to support that from either the Executive  or Legislative branch's.  Is it any wonder so many are so anxious for change?  The moment of truth is at hand, will average Americans turn out in significant numbers to engage in the revolution, or will apathy again overtake too many?

Regardless of your personal views, if you've voted I say thank you.  If not, you have sacrificed your birthright, and the right to complain about the outcome.  Shame on you.

I was voter #95 at 8am this morning. Paul was #825. We wouldn't miss a chance to revolt. ;-)
