In
photography, and the movies there is something called “forced perspective.” It
creates an optical illusion for the viewer to make something appear larger or
smaller than it really is by placing it closer or farther away in the scene and
drawing your eyes toward it.
When this technique
is used in entertainment we can sit back and enjoy the illusion. When the people we look to report the news
use it to mask the problems of one candidate and showcase the problems of
another it is disturbing.
